Play suspended at Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic

SYLVANIA, Ohio – University of Arkansas junior golfer Stacy Lewis put five holes in the books before second round play was suspended at the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic in Sylvania, Ohio, Friday. Players were called from the par-71 Highland Meadows Golf Club at 2:03 p.m., Central when severe thunderstorms and heavy rains added to the already saturated conditions on the course. Seventy-one players were unable to complete their rounds and play is tentatively scheduled to resume no earlier that 10 a.m. Central Saturday. Lewis opened with a first-round one-over 72 but was tied for 54th heading into Friday’s play. She struggled through the first two holes with back-to-back bogies but parred the next three to stand at three-over for the two days. She has 13 holes remaining in her round.
