Portis Leads Bulls to NBA Summer League Title

LAS VEGAS – Former Razorback All-American Bobby Portis led the Chicago Bulls to a perfect 7-0 record and the Las Vegas NBA Summer League Championship Monday night, scoring 26 points and adding 10 rebounds and four steals in an overtime victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Portis finished the summer league averaging 17.3 points and 9.4 rebounds per contest and earned All-NBA Summer League First Team honors. He joined Ben Simmons (76ers), Alan Williams (Suns), Jordan McRae (Cavs) and Tyus Jones (Timberwolves) on the first team.

Selected No. 22 overall by the Bulls in the 2015 NBA Draft, Portis emerged as a rookie contributor in Chicago in 2015-16, playing in 62 games and averaging 17.8 minutes, 5.4 rebounds and 7.0 points per game.
