LAST TIME OUT

  • No. 23 Arkansas Women’s Basketball won its second straight game on Monday night, moving to 2-0 with a 101-58 win over McNeese State.
  • It was Arkansas’ first game this season scoring 100 or more, and the third time in the Neighbors Era the Hogs have reached the century mark.
  • After not having a double-double in her career, Thomas now has two in her first two games of this season.
  • Dungee extended her double-digit points streak to 19 straight games.
  • Both Amber Ramirez and Makayla Daniels got into double-figures once again. Ramirez went for 13 points while Daniels dropped 11 points.
  • Redshirt freshman Erynn Barnum was a force on the inside during her nearly-17 minutes played, scoring a career-best 11 points while pulling down six rebounds.
  • Sophomore Rokia Doumbia also had a nice game, scoring seven points, gathering a career-high eight boards while dishing two assists.
  • All 12 Razorbacks that dressed for the game scored, including freshman walk-on Avery Hughes, who scored her first points as a Hog in the fourth quarter.

STORYLINES

  • Taylah Thomas was simply unstoppable on the glass against New Orleans, pulling down 21 rebounds in her first game of the season.
  • Thomas nearly broke Arkansas’ all-time record for total rebounds in a game, but she fell one short of Shelly Wallace’s record (22, vs. SMU, 2/13/88).
  • Despite falling short of the all-time milestone, Thomas bested her previous career highs in total rebounds (21 vs. 12), defensive rebounds (14 vs. 9) and offensive rebounds (7 vs. 6).
  • Thomas joined exclusive company with her 20+ rebounds, becoming just the fifth Razorback ever to grab 20 or more rebounds in a game.
  • The most recent 20+ rebound performance prior to Thomas actually also came against New Orleans, when Melissa Wolf brought down 20 boards against the Privateers on December 30, 2015.
  • Thomas double-doubled again against McNeese State, going for 11 points and 11 rebounds in her roughly 23 minutes played.
  • Of her eight career games scoring in double figures, two have come in this season’s first two contests. Two of her five double-figure rebounding games have also come in this season’s first two games.
  • Chelsea Dungee continues to score the ball for the Hogs, picking up right where she left off in game one of the 2019-20 season.
  • Going back to last season, Dungee has now scored in double-digits in 19 straight contests.
  • Dungee has scored 20+ in 21 of her 39 games since arriving in Fayetteville.
