STORYLINES

  • No. 25 Arkansas suffered its first loss of the season over the weekend, falling in a tightly contested game at Cal, 84-80.
  • Despite the loss, Neighbors’ offense remains elite, as the Hogs are currently ranked seventh in the NCAA (89.7 PPG).
  • The Razorbacks are one of just eight teams in the country averaging 89+ points per game, joining Mississippi State, Oregon, Abilene Christian, Texas Tech, Baylor, DePaul and Maryland.
  • The dominant offense paired with an improving defense has yielded the 23rd best Point Differential (+27.0) in the nation.
  • Arkansas has gotten a lot of its offense from beyond the arc, where the Hogs have been elite. They are making 9.8 three-balls a game, the 10th-best mark in the NCAA.
  • That volume paired with the team’s efficiency from beyond (38.3 percent, 34th-best in the NCAA) has yielded great results in the early going for the Razorback attack.
  • Neighbors’ bunch has gotten a lot of its offense from the line this season, too, as they are fourth in the nation, and leading the Power 5, in free throws made (115), trailing only Troy, North Florida and Oral Roberts. The next closest Power 5 team is Duke, who has made 109 freebies this season so far.
  • The Hogs are fifth in the nation in free throw attempts (162).
  • Chelsea Dungee continues to be excellent at getting to the free throw line.
  • She is once again among the nation’s elite at the line, as Dungee is currently tied for sixth in free throws made (37) in the NCAA.
  • Dungee is also tied for 12th in FTA (43).
  • She shot 13 freebies against New Orleans, making ten of them. It was the eighth time in her Arkansas career where she has made 10+ free throws in a game.
  • Dungee also went a perfect 9-9 at the line against Cal.
  • Dungee broke the Arkansas record for free throws made in a single-season last year, putting down 229 of them. She also broke the free throws made record for both a single game (17) and in a quarter (nine) against Auburn last season.
  • Dungee is already nearing the free throws made career record at Arkansas, as she has made 326 freebies, good for ninth-best all time, between her season at Oklahoma and her time at Arkansas.
