Prince breaks facility record in SEC 400m hurdles prelim
AUBURN – The lone final involving Arkansas on the first day of the SEC Outdoor Championships had Josphine Mwaura placing 12th in the 10,000m with a time of 34:34.53.
The Razorbacks advanced five individuals to finals in the 800m (3) and 400m hurdles (2). On Friday, qualifying will be held in the 100m hurdles, 1,500m, 400m and 100m while finals will be contested in the high jump and long jump.
Saira Prince broke the facility record in the 400m hurdles prelims with a season best time of 55.72. That bettered the previous Hutsell-Rosen Track facility mark of 55.78 set earlier this season by Tyra Wilson.
Prince has a career best of 55.49 from 2025 that ranks No. 3 on the UA all-time list.
Arkansas freshman Morgan Herbst joined Prince in the final with a third-place finish in the third heat with a time of 56.68 that ranks No. 8 on the UA all-time list.
Sanu Jallow-Lockhart won her heat of the 800m in 2:02.22 as three Razorbacks advanced to the final.
Racing in heat one, Analisse Batista earned an automatic berth to the final as runner-up in 2:03.52, which ranks No. 6 on the UA all-time list, while Makenna Herbst advanced on time with a third place 2:03.71 that ranks No. 8 at UA.
Asia Thomas led the Razorbacks in the prelims of the 200m with a time of 23.67, but didn’t advance.
