> TURBO TRIO. A pair of Razorbacks were named to The Bowerman 2023 men’s preseason watch list. Ayden Owens-Delerme, and Wayne Pinnock represent Arkansas on the 10-athlete watch list, and Carey McLeod is among eight others to receive votes for the list.
Ayden returns after being a finalist for the prestigious award last month and winning the USTFCCCA National Field Athlete of the Year in 2022. Wayne and Carey join the Razorbacks as transfers from Tennessee, where they won NCAA hardware as long jumpers.
> RAID ON. Arkansas soccer has added forward Macy Schultz, a transfer from Texas Tech, to the 2023 roster. Macy appeared in 73 matches for the Red Raiders, including 42 starts, and notched 34 points on 14 goals and six assists during her four years with the program. As a freshman, she was named Big 12 Freshman of the Week and appeared on the Big 12 All-Freshman team in 2019.
> ISLE OF ENCHANTMENT. The 2023 Latin America Amatuer Championship will be rife with Razorback golfers. Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira, Manuel Lozada, Segundo Oliva Pinto, and Julian Perico will compete in this weekend’s event at the Grand Reserve Golf Club in Puerto Rico. Mateo was last year’s runner-up, and Julian was the leader after two rounds. This will be the latter’s sixth time competing in the event. Click here to see their tee times.
> DOUBLE DEVO. Arkansas men’s basketball leaned on junior Davonte Davis in their third-straight game against a ranked opponent last night. Devo recorded his second career double-double in the Hogs’ loss to No. 4 Alabama Wednesday evening as he put up 16 points to go with a career-high 10 rebounds. He played all but 1:31 of the game and didn’t commit a single turnover.
> DIVE ON IN. The No. 18 Razorback swimming and diving team returns home to face off against Little Rock on Saturday, and kick off the second half of the season. It will be the first time Arkansas and Little Rock will compete against each other since 2019, as last year’s matchup was canceled due to inclement weather.
Arkansas is a month removed from their previous competition at the Toyota U.S. Open, where junior Bradi Jones finished seventh in the C-Final of the 200-meter breaststroke, and grad student Andrea Sansores broke the school record in the 100-meter butterfly C-Final.
Jones and Sansores will be re-joined by freshman phenom Betsy Wizard this weekend. Dive time will be at 11am in the Arkansas Natatorium.
Two different halves. The Hogs suffered a tough loss last night to a talented Alabama team, and Z is here to tell you what happened.
Stick around for a sneak peek and everything you need to know about the 100 Seasons of Razorback Basketball documentary premiering on HogsPlus.com tonight.
