Receipts were kept. Let’s just say the Hogs made it personal this week.
Tune in this afternoon for the latest edition of The Follow, featuring all access with Razorback men’s basketball throughout their big week with victories over Ole Miss and LSU, and the extra bulletin board material they leaned on.
> TRIO OF FIRSTS. The USA Softball’s Top 50 Watch List for its 2023 Collegiate Player of the Year Award has been released, and Arkansas has never been more represented.
Chenise Delce, Kristina Foreman and Hannah Gammill were all voted to the list for the first time in their careers, giving the Razorbacks a program-record three players on the list. Arkansas is one of four programs to land three or more players on the 2023 watch list, joining Oklahoma, Florida and UCLA.
> TASTE OF VICTORY. Arkansas men’s basketball’s two-game win streak arrived at a great time for the program. Following a multi-game skid in the SEC, the Hogs are starting to regain some confidence from earlier in the season and make their way back into the top 25. Read up on the resurgence of swagger within the team via HawgSports.com.
> PERFECT PAIRS. It’s been a perfect start to the year for Arkansas men’s tennis. The Razorbacks improved to 5-0 on the season with a win over Oral Roberts at home Wednesday, and they’ve still yet to drop a doubles match. Juniors Melvin Manuel and Stefanos Savva secured a 6-2 win, and Manuel took care of business in singles play with a 6-1, 6-3 victory as well. Freshman Gerard Planelles Ripoll moved to 5-0 on the year in singles play yesterday after dropping just two sets in his match.
The Razorbacks are back on the road this weekend for the ITA Kickoff Weekend on Saturday in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Their first match will be against Northwestern on Saturday.
> GLORY IN SIGHT. As half of the best linebacker duo remaining in the NFL playoffs, former Razorback Dre Greenlaw and the San Francisco 49ers will be taking on the Philadelphia Eagles for a trip to the Super Bowl. Greenlaw has been his usual productive self this postseason, leading the 49ers dominant defense in total tackles (17) and defensive stops (8). The Niners kickoff against the Eagles at 2pm this Sunday.
> TIEBREAKING THE TIDE. No. 24 Arkansas women’s basketball is back at home tonight following two road contests against top-5 teams. The Razorbacks will face Alabama in a matchup with heavy SEC implications as both teams are in a three-way tie for fifth in the conference standings. Arkansas will also look to improve its home record to 10-1 on the year. Click here to watch head coach Mike Neighbors preview the matchup.
Tipoff is set for 6pm inside Bud Walton Arena, and the game will be broadcasted on SEC Network.
