Razorback MGolf Hosts 15th Annual CABO COLLEGIATE Mar. 2-4

FAYETTEVILLE – For the 15th consecutive year, the Arkansas men’s golf team will host some of the best programs in the country at the CABO COLLEGIATE, played Mar. 2-4 at the Twin Dolphin Club in Los Cabos, Mexico.

The tournament features three days of golf (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday) with 18 holes each day.

Third-ranked Arizona State will look to defend its title versus a 14-team field that includes 10 of the nation’s top 51 teams and five of the nation’s top 20. Including the Sun Devils, the 2025 field features seven teams that have combined to win 12 of the first 14 CABO COLLEGIATE’s played.

Top-ranked Ole Miss headlines the ranked teams in the 2025 field along with #3 Arizona State, #6 Oklahoma State, #14 Vanderbilt, #17 Arizona, #19 Texas Tech, #21 Florida State, #29 Tennessee, #49 Houston and #51 Stanford. Arkansas, Baylor, Cal and Rice round out the field.

Individually, two of the top three players in the NCAA rankings will compete in the 2025 CABO with #1 Josele Ballester (Arizona State) and Michael La Sasso (Ole Miss). Ballester, ranked 3rd in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, tied for 10th at last year’s CABO while La Sasso, #15 in WAGR, was runner-up. Arizona State’s Preston Summerhays, ranked #8 in WAGR, placed third in last year’s CABO.

Like last year, the host Razorbacks come to CABO after winning the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate. Arkansas rode that momentum to a third-place finish, the program’s best result since winning the event in 2010 and 2011.

Razorback freshman Erich Fortlage will lead the Arkansas contingent. He is coming off his first collegiate win at the Palmas Del Mar as well as strong finishes at the South America Amateur (T3) and Latin America Amateur (T6). John Daly II tied for fourth at the Palmas Del Mar and he tied for 20th at last year’s CABO.

Gerardo Gomez and Thomas Curry are the only Razorbacks to make the lineup for all six event this year. Gomez is second on the team with a 73.33 scoring average and Curry is just behind at 73.53. Manuel Lozada, who has only played in one event for the Razorbacks this season – the Blessings Collegiate Invitational – will be playing in his fourth CABO.

Pablo Garcia Terol and Rex Hargrove will be playing as individuals. This will mark the collegiate debut for Hargrove, who redshirted last season and was injured in the fall.
