Razorback Swim and Dive Finish Second at SMU Invite
The Razorback Swim and Dive team placed second at the SMU Invite with a final score of 310.
During day one of the SMU Classic the Hogs finished the day in second place with a score of 152. They won second place in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:31.62. In the 400-yard IM, Holly Robinson finished second in the A-final with a time of 4:15.00, and Hayden Gibson finished first in the B-final with a time of 4:15.42. Isabelle Leigh finished third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:46.69 in the B-final. During the 50-yard freestyle, Harriet Rogers finished second in the A-final with a time of 21.83, and Ellery Chandler finished third in the B-final with a time of 22.92. Maria Sanchez took first place in the 3-meter diving with a score of 301. Isabelle Leigh took second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 52.01 in the A-final. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Ellery Chandler placed second in the A-final with a time of 1:00.85, and Ellen Garritson took the crown in the B-final with a time of 1:01.31.
Then on day two of the meet Arkansas took second in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:37.43. In the 200-yard breaststroke, Ellen Garriston claimed the crown in the A-final with a time of 2:12.22, and Ellery Chandler took the crown in the B-final with a time of 2:12.22. In the 200-yard backstroke, Hayden Gibson claimed first place in the B-final with a time of 1:55.33, and Isabelle Leigh took third in the A-final with a time of 1:56.30. Maria Sanchez claimed the crown for first place in the 1-meter diving with a score of 277.45. Harriet Rogers placed third in the 100-yard freestyle in the A-final with a time of 48.10. In the 200-yard IM, Holly Robinson finished first in the B-final with a time of 2:01.66, and Ellen Garritson placed second in the A-final with a time of 2:01.70. The Razorbacks wrapped up the day with a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:29.01.
Arkansas finished second at the SMU Invite with a final score of 310. Arizona State finished first with a final score of 369, SMU came in third with a score of 271. Missouri finished fourth with a score of 246, Virginia Tech came in fifth with a score of 238, and in sixth with a score of 228 was Arizona.
The Hogs 3:31.62 finish in the 400-yard medley relay was a school record. The Razorbacks will be back in action at the Rice Invite on October 23-24 in Houston, Texas.
