Razorback Swim and Dive Takes Down Drury and TCU

Arkansas starts the season 6-0 after taking down Drury and TCU in their home opener.

The Hogs won first in 15 of the 16 events they competed in today, had 6 second place finishes, and 5 third place finishes. Two of their first-place finishes came from the 200-yard medley relay (1:39.95) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:25.41). They took down Drury 209-83, and TCU 196-98.

Holly Robinson took gold in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:26.43. Then during the 200-yard Freestyle, Viola Petrini took home gold with a time of 1:50.64. Next, Isabelle Leigh came in first with a time of 53.46 in the 100-yard backstroke. Coming in first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.82 was Ellen Garritson. The next event was the 200-yard butterfly where Hayden Gibson took the victory with a time of 2:01.51. Harriet Rogers took home the title in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.77. Maria Sanchez claimed first place in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving with scores of 326.95, and 365.40 respectively. Harriet Rogers also claimed the title in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.10. In the 200-yard backstroke, Hayden Gibson took the victory with a time of 2:00.66. Next, in the 200-yard breaststroke, Ellen Garriston was victorious again with a time of 2:15.29. Isabelle Leigh also claimed the title for the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.41. Hayden Gibson also claimed first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:04.16.

Members of the Arkansas Swim and Dive team will travel to Dallas, Texas next week for the SMU Classic on October 9-10. The meet is slated to begin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
