Razorbacks claim No. 1 position going into NCAA Championships
FAYETTEVILLE – In the 10th week of the national ratings index, Arkansas moves into the N. 1 position ahead of the NCAA Championships hosted in Eugene, Oregon, from June 5-8 at Hayward Field.
After five consecutive weeks at No. 2, the Razorbacks claimed the No. 1 status following their impressive performances during the NCAA West First Rounds. Following six weeks at No. 1 this outdoor season, LSU drops down to No. 2.
The rest of the top five includes Texas, Oregon and Florida. The top 10 also includes Texas A&M, Georgia, Texas Tech, USC, and Ole Miss.
Arkansas will have 18 entries in the NCAA Championships, with 12 of the entries ranked among the top 10. LSU leads with 22 entries while Texas and Texas A&M follow with 15 each. A trio of teams – Georgia, Oregon, and Texas Tech – have 14 entries apiece.
The Razorbacks have three collegiate leaders in Nickisha Pryce (49.32 400m), Rachel Glenn (53.94 400m hurdles), and the 4 x 400m relay, which set a collegiate outdoor record of 3:21.92 with a quartet of Rosey Effiong, Pryce, Kaylyn Brown, and Amber Anning.
Arkansas ranks 1-2-3-5 nationally in the 400m with a trio of sub-50 second times. Pryce leads with a 49.32 followed by Brown at 49.47, Anning at 49.51 and Effiong with a 50.11 career best during the NCAA West.

Glenn, the NCAA Indoor champion, produced a career best time of 53.94 in the 400m hurdles to become the collegiate leader over USC’s Jasmine Jones, who previously led the collegiate ranks with her 53.98. In the high jump, Glenn ranks third outdoors with a 6-3.5 (1.92) mark.
Sanu Jallow ranks second nationally in the 800m with her UA record of 1:59.29 and is just one of three entrants to have run under two minutes this season.
