Razorbacks Claim Three Wins on Friday at PTT 25K Fayetteville
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team concluded the first round of playoff matches Friday at the PTT 25K Fayetteville as the Razorbacks claimed three wins, including Božo Barun and Lukas Palovic advancing to the finals of the 2nd place playoffs.
After both going 3-1 during the group stage, Barun and Palovic qualified for the 2nd place playoffs with each Hog clinching their spot in the finals following two straight-set victories over teammates Brendan Boland and Connor Smillie, respectively. The two Razorbacks will face off tomorrow in the championship match at 1 p.m.
Arthur Bellegy secured a win in the 5th place playoffs against Egor Shestakov to claim his spot in the championship match. Bellegy moves on to play Stefanos Savva tomorrow following the second match on Court 2.
Benni Emesz also closed out group play with a 3-1 record to earn a berth in the 1st place playoffs before dropping his opening round match to Mehdi Benchakroun, 3-6, 2-6. In the third place playoffs, Jakub Vrba fell to Karim Al-Amin in a tight three-set battle to end his run in the tournament.
