PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — After earning a first-round bye, Arkansas’ ninth-ranked doubles duo of sophomore Giulia Pairone and senior Léolia Jeanjean was defeated, 8-5, by Duke’s 25th-ranked pair of Kaitlyn McCarthy and Ellyse Hamlin in the second round of the main doubles draw Thursday at the 2017 Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships.
“Léolia and Giulia are playing some amazing doubles early in the season,” head coach Michael Hegarty said. “The matches here are going to be invaluable for their continued development.”
Jeanjean and Pairone will turn their attention to consolation competition Friday against Kentucky’s 13th-ranked tandem of Mami Adachi and Akvilė Paražinskaitė.
