Razorbacks display talent on final day of Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT, California – The final day of the 66th Mt. SAC Relays delivered stellar performances for the Razorbacks as Saira Prince won the 400m hurdles while runner-up finishes for Sanaria Butler and Sanu Jallow-Lockhart include noteworthy times.

In her second venture in the 400m hurdles this outdoor season, Prince registered her second victory. She clocked 55.86 for the win over Emillia Tangara of West Texas A&M (56.50) while Arkansas freshman Morgan Herbst placed third in 56.78 and moved to No. 8 on the UA all-time list.

Racing in the 400m, Butler registered a career best of 49.84 as runner-up to a 49.54 for USC’s Madison Whyte. The time for Whyte ranks No. 10 on the collegiate all-time list. Meanwhile, Butler ranks No. 6 on the UA all-time list and No. 10 among American collegians.

Also in the race was Kaylyn Brown, who finished third in 50.30 ahead of Iowa State’s Rachel Joseph (50.98) and professional Anna Cockrell (51.49). The top three finishers in the race currently rank 2-3-4 among collegians for the 2026 outdoor season.

The 800m race delivered a pair of sub-2 minutes times with Arkansas alum Shafiqua Maloney winning in 1:59.54 while current Razorback Sanu Jallow-Lockhart finished second in 1:59.70. The time by Jallow-Lockhart ranks second among collegians this outdoor season and was just shy of her 1:59.29 UA record.

Analisse Batista placed sixth in the race with a 2:03.88, No. 10 on the UA all-time list, behind three professionals in Samanth Watson (2:00.53), Stacey Ann Williams (2:03.64), and Dalilah Muhammad (2:03.71).

Makenna Herbst finished second in the first section of the 800m with a 2:05.03 and placed eighth overall.

Simone Ballard won her section of the 100m hurdles in 13.24 (+1.6 wind) with Prince runner-up in 13.30 while Gabriella Cunningham finished fifth with a career best of 13.45.

Maria Arboleda tied for third place in the high jump with a clearance of 6-0 (1.83) to match the same height as professional Vashti Cunningham. The mark for Arboleda ranks No. 4 on the UA all-time list.

Asia Thomas produced a career best of 11.41 (+1.4 wind) as runner-up in the first section of the 100m.

Thomas later anchored the Arkansas 4 x 400m relay to a 3:29.24 victory over a professional squad that clocked 3:30.82. The Razorback foursome included Abigail Campbell, Butler [1:43.38], Brown (51.00), and Thomas (54.87). Additional time was added when Brown and Thomas dropped the baton on their exchange.

A second Arkansas foursome in the same race included Prince, Badal [1:47.62], Herbst (53.53), and Sharpe (51.90). They placed fourth in 3:33.04.

Campbell won the first section of the 400m in 52.48. Amirah Sharpe finished fifth in another section of the 400m with a 52.68.
