Razorbacks Dominate Little Rock, 96-57, in Fayetteville
FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas women’s basketball (5-1) re-entered the win column with a 96-57 win over Little Rock (1-3) on Thursday night in Bud Walton Arena.
Freshman guard Bonnie Deas picked up her third double-double six games into her collegiate career.
First Quarter – 25-10
- Little Rock controlled the tip but missed a layup on the first possession of the game.
- Arkansas was called for a 3-second violation on its first possession.
- The Trojans scored via Alaina Payne first after missing their first three field goals.
- Taleyah Jones’ jumper tied it up for the Hogs’ first points of the game.
- The Hogs led 12-5 at the media timeout
- Arkansas went on a 14-3 run, starting with Jones’ basket and capped off by a layup from Emily Robinson.
- The Hogs went 5-5 from the field to take a 15-point lead at the end of the first quarter.
- Jones led the Hogs with nine points and Deas grabbed seven boards.
Second Quarter – 48-18
- Little Rock was scoreless for the first 5:50 of the second quarter and called a timeout after the Hogs scored 11 points on a three from Wyvette Mayberry and two from Jenna Lawrence, who led the Hogs with six points in the second quarter.
- Deas grabbed her 10th rebound at the 6:20 mark.
- Arkansas cooled off and was 1 for its last 7 from the field midway through the second quarter.
- The Hogs outscored Little Rock 23-8 in the second quarter.
- Deas finished with a career-high 13 rebounds in the first half, the most in a half since Saylor Poffenbarger had 14 against Incarnate Word on Dec. 31, 2023.
Third Quarter – 72-35
- Little Rock started 3-3 from the field.
- Deas entered double-figures in points at the 6:04 mark and picked up the double-double.
- Lawrence increased her point total to 15.
- Arkansas ended the third on an 8-0 run.
Fourth Quarter – 96-57
- The Hogs started the quarter with two free throws but went on a nearly three-minute scoring drought.
- The score was 83-47 at the media timeout.
- Danika Galea went 4-4 from the field and led the Hogs with eight points in the fourth.
- Arkansas went on an 11-1 run and 7-8 from the field over the final three minutes of the quarter.
Game Notes
- Arkansas improved to 2-0 in in-state matchups this season. Earlier this month, the Razorbacks defeated UAPB, 101-49. All-time, Arkansas is 31-12 against in-state opponents. Against DI in-state opponents, the Hogs are 28-4 and have only lost once since 2005, against UAPB in Fayetteville in 2023.
- Mayberry finished with seven points in her Bud Walton debut.
- Deas finished with 15 points and 15 rebounds.
- Jones led all scorers with 19 points and led the Razorbacks for the second straight game.

The Hogs will play in their only regular-season tournament next week, the Music City Classic in Nashville, Tenn., on Nov. 25 and 26 against Drake and Southern Illinois.
