Razorbacks Face Familiar Opponent In SEC Semifinals
ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – Only two days removed from defeating Vanderbilt 1-0 on Wednesday, No. 19 Arkansas will compete in its first SEC Tournament semifinal match under head coach Colby Hale on Friday, Nov. 4 against No. 11 Auburn at the Orange Beach Sportsplex.
The match will be nationally broadcast live on SEC Network at 6 p.m. CT.
Arkansas and Auburn faced each other during the regular season on Oct. 14, with the Razorbacks dropping the contest 3-2 on the road.
If Arkansas advances, the SEC Tournament championship will be played on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 3 p.m. CT and broadcast live on ESPNU.
Notes:
• Arkansas last faced Auburn in the SEC Tournament in 1993, topping the Tigers 8-0 in Nashville, Tennessee
• Arkansas’ last four victories have been shutouts: 4-0 against Vanderbilt on Oct. 6, 1-0 against Missouri on Oct. 20, 2-0 against LSU on Oct. 27 and 1-0 against Vanderbilt on Nov. 2
• Arkansas’ six shutout wins are the most since the 2013 season
• Three Razorbacks are tied for the team lead in goals with eight: Freshman Kayla McKeon and seniors Claire Kelley and Lindsey Mayo
• Kelley leads the team with a season career-high 13 assists and 29 points. She only needs one more assist to top Arkansas’ current assists leader, Holly Collins, who tallied 26 helpers during her time as a Razorback from 1997-2001
• Goalkeeper Cameron Carter’s 1.07 goals against average is a career-best mark for the senior, along with her 16 wins
• Arkansas has a perfect mark for penalty kicks during the season: Katie Kienstra is 1 for 1, scoring a PK during the 86th minute of play against Northern Iowa on Sept. 1
• Arkansas’ nine wins in Southeastern Conference play and 16 wins overall are the most tallied by the program in its 30-year history
