Razorbacks Head to Missouri to Close Regular Season
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 40 Arkansas women’s tennis team will finish out the regular season against Missouri on Friday. The Razorbacks (11-10, 5-7) will face the Tigers (10-14, 1-11) on Friday, April 14 at 12 p.m. at the Country Club of Missouri.
Arkansas completed a perfect last weekend at home, upsetting No 12 Auburn and defeating No. 50 Alabama to improve to 5-7 in conference play. Freshman Carolina Gomez Alonso earned her second SEC Freshman of the Week honor for her play, including a ranked win against Auburn’s No. 44 Arsenault. Gomez Alonso and doubles partner Kelly Keller were key in securing both doubles points, moving to 7-6 this dual season with two wins.
The Tigers have lost seven straight in SEC play with their lone conference win coming against Mississippi State, 4-2. In its last two matches, Missouri dropped a 4-1 decision to Alabama then fell to No. 12 Auburn, 4-1. Leading the Tigers is No. 104 Mae Canete with an overall 19-11 record this season.
