Razorbacks Hit the West Coast

FAYETTEVILLE – After opening the season at TPC Sawgrass on the Atlantic coast Feb. 3-4, the Arkansas men’s golf program will head to the Pacific coast, some 2,331 miles apart, to play in the 20th annual Prestige Presented by Charles Schwab, Feb. 17-19 in La Quinta, Calif., at the Greg Norman Course at PGA WEST (par 71, 7,100 yards.)

The 16-team field includes top-ranked Pepperdine, a total of 11 of the nation’s top 50 programs and all 15 NCAA schools are among the Golf Stat top 100. Also in the field is the University of Stirling from Scotland.

“This course is a desert-style course which will be one like the national championship will be played on this year,” head coach Brad McMakin said. “Also, this field will be the caliber of one playing in the postseason. This will be a good test and experience for our team.”

The final round will be streamed live on GolfWeek.com. (More information will be provided as it becomes available.)

This will be the second straight year Arkansas has played at The Prestige. The Razorbacks, 12th after round one last season, finished eighth.
