Razorbacks In 4th, But RD1 Suspended at NCAA Amherst Regional

AMHERST, Va. – Six of the 13 teams completed round one at the NCAA Amherst Regional, but Arkansas was not one of them. However, four Razorbacks finished before play was suspended due to darkness, John Daly II got in 16 holes and Arkansas sits in fourth at -1.

Tennessee, ranked 30th, got off to a fast start, posting 13 birdies over its first five holes, and leads at -9 (271). Oklahoma, ranked seventh, is currently second at -4 (276) and Vanderbilt, ranked 18th, is 2-under (278).

Arkansas is 1-under thanks to a 2-under 68 from freshman Erich Fortlage. He was 1-under at the turn, reeled off eight straight pars on the inward nine and birdied his last hole prior to the round being halted to stand in a tie for sixth.

Mark Stockdale used three birdies on the back nine to post a 1-under-par 69 and stand in a tie for 11th. Thomas Curry opened his round by holing-out for an eagle on the 384-yar, par-4, 1st hole. He finished with an even par round of 70 and stands in a tie for 20th.

Daly is tied for 38th and is 2-over through 16 holes. Gerardo Gomez is tied for 60th with his 4-over 74.

The first round was moved up one day due to inclement weather in the forecast. The teams played a practice round Sunday morning and started round one afterwards. Round one will conclude Monday morning with round toe scheduled to begin at approximately 10:30 am (ET).
