Razorbacks In Florida for Valspar
FAYETTEVILLE – The Arkansas men’s golf program will once again face some of the nation’s top teams when the Razorbacks travel to Palm City, Fla., for the 2019 Valspar Collegiate Invitational, which will be played Mar. 17-19 at The Floridian National Golf Club (par 71 – 7,114 yards).
The 15-team field features 12 of the nation’s top 35 teams, including #1 Oklahoma State, #2 Duke, #6 Wake Forest, #8 Texas, #9 Georgia Tech, #11 LSU, #20 USF, #23 Baylor, #27 Texas A&M, #30 Florida State, #31 South Carolina and #35 Arkansas.
This will be the third straight year the Razorbacks have played at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational and fifth time overall.
After a strong finish at the Cabo Collegiate (Mar. 3-5), freshman Wil Gibson will be inserted into the lineup. Gibson, playing as an individual at Cabo, was the top-finishing Razorback, placing 13th and shooting a career-best 2-under-par 211. The only other event Gibson made the Razorback top five was at the Gopher Intercollegiate last September.
Julian Perico, William Buhl, Mason Overstreet and Tyson Reeder round out the Razorback quintet while Luiz Garza will play as an individual.
After the Valspar, Arkansas will conclude the regular-season at the annual 3M Augusta Invitational (April 6-7) before playing in the SEC Championship (April 24-28).
