Razorbacks Land Four on D1 Softball D100 Players Rankings
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas softball’s Bri Ellis, Kailey Wyckoff, Reagan Johnson and Kennedy Miller were ranked as Top 100 Players nationally on the D1 Softball D100 Player Rankings ahead of the 2025 season, the publication announced on Monday morning.
Ellis checks in at No. 37 overall after hitting a career-best .322 and leading the Razorbacks with 14 home runs, 36 runs scored and 47 RBI in addition to pacing the squad with a .651 slugging percentage and .444 on-base percentage in 2024. She also posted a team-best 14 multi-RBI games and 11 multi-hit games during her junior season while starting all 55 games at first base. As a result of her efforts, Ellis was a Second-Team All-America selection by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association and earned First-Team All-SEC and All-SEC Defensive Team honors. Ellis enters the 2025 season with 48 career home runs, which is the second-most nationally among all active Division I players, trailing only Shaylon Govan of Baylor. In addition to the long ball, she has posted 43 multi-RBI and 27 multi-hit games throughout her collegiate career.
Wyckoff followed at No. 43 on the list ahead of her first season in Fayetteville. Wyckoff posted a .407 batting average with 12 doubles, seven home runs and a career-high 35 RBI to earn First-Team All-Big 12 honors while at Texas Tech in 2024. She also recorded 15 multi-hit games and a team-best 24-game reached-base streak. During her two seasons at Texas Tech, Wyckoff appeared all over the field for the Red Raiders, with nine or more starts at five different positions. She appeared in 51 games as a catcher, 24 games in right field, 12 games in left field, 10 games as a designated player and nine games at first base. Her career batting average of .400 ranks fourth among all players with multiple seasons of collegiate playing experience at the Power 4 level and 15th nationally among all Division I players.
Johnson was ranked 61st leading into her junior season. She is the all-time program leader in career batting average with a mark of .379 and ranks among the all-time Arkansas career leaders in on-base percentage (.420, 6th) and triples (5, 9th). The center fielder was named First-Team All-SEC and NFCA First-Team All-South Region in 2024 after batting a team-best .380 with 73 hits, four doubles, one triple, 11 RBI, 35 runs scored and 79 total bases to go along with a team-high 12 stolen bases. She ranked fourth in the SEC and 33rd nationally in hits (73), while her .380 batting average was the fifth-best among SEC hitters. The Karnes City, Texas product enters the 2025 season on a seven-game hitting streak and 15-game reached base streak.
Miller followed right behind Johnson in the No. 62 spot. The Georgetown, Texas product is looking to build off of an impressive freshman campaign in which she earned D1 Softball and Softball America Freshman all-America honors and NFCA First-Team All-South Region honors after batting .331 with 45 hits, eight home runs, five doubles, two triples, nine walks, 36 RBI and 23 runs scored. She finished second on the team in batting average and multi-hit games (14). Her eight home runs were the most by an Arkansas freshman since Kacie Hoffman also belted eight in 2022. Defensively, Miller committed only one error behind the plate in 310 chances for a .997 fielding percentage while also throwing out five would-be base stealers
Arkansas was one of nine programs nationally with four or more players on the list, joining Texas (8), Florida (7), Oklahoma (6), UCLA (5), Oklahoma State (5), Duke (4), Tennessee (4) and Virginia Tech (4). In addition to appearing on the D1 Softball D100 Rankings, Ellis, Wyckoff and Johnson were all previously named Top 100 players by Softball America ahead of the 2025 season.
The Razorbacks open the 2025 campaign and year 10 of the Courtney Deifel era in San Marcos, Texas, at the Texas State Tournament on Feb. 6-8, where the Razorbacks will face tournament host Texas State on Feb. 6 at 5 p.m. in the season opener.
Arkansas has won two of the last four regular season SEC titles. The Razorbacks are coming off a 37-18 mark in 2024, which featured their seventh-consecutive NCAA Tournament berth in 2024 and fifth national seed, all of which have come under Deifel’s guidance.
