Razorbacks outdoor schedule includes two home meets

Arkansas’ outdoor season will include a pair of home meets this spring and begins with a trip to Oregon for the Hayward Premiere on the first weekend of April.

Six regular season meets will prepare the Razorbacks for the SEC Championships and NCAA West Preliminary Round, which are both held in College Station, Texas, this season. Then there is a return trip to Eugene, Oregon, for the NCAA Championships, held at Hayward Field from June 9-12.

After missing the entire 2020 outdoor campaign due to the covid pandemic, Arkansas will return a number of seniors who didn’t have indoor eligibility remaining, but still have an outdoor season to contest.

The two home meets for the Razorbacks include the John McDonnell Invitational on April 23-24 along with the Arkansas Twilight on May 7. Information on limited fan attendance at John McDonnell Field will be announced in the coming weeks.

Following the opening weekend at Oregon (April 2-3), which serves as the debut of the new Hayward Field, the Razorback decathletes will compete in the Spec Towns Invitational (April 9-10) at Georgia.

Arkansas travels to Gainesville for the Tom Jones Memorial (April 16-17) hosted by Florida. In between the two Arkansas home meets, the Razorbacks visit Baton Rouge for the LSU Invitational (May 7).

Texas A&M serves as host for the SEC Championships (May 13-15) and the NCAA West Preliminary round (May 27-29). The NCAA announced this week the regional entries for this season will be trimmed from 48 to 32 for individual events.
