Razorbacks post three more victories at Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT, Calif. – Arkansas posted three victories during the Friday portion of the Mt. SAC Relays at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in the high jump, 200m, and 4 x 400m relay and added a runner-up finish in the 110m hurdles.

The first Razorback victory occurred in the high jump as Kason O’Riley topped the field of 13 with a clearance of 7-0.5 (2.15) while teammate Tomas Ferrari finished eighth with a 6-6.75 (2.00) effort.

O’Riley navigated three bars with one attempt each, and then needed a third attempt to make 7-0.5, which followed with three attempts at a career best of 7-3 (2.21). O’Riley was the lone jumper left at the 7-0.5 height as 6-10.75 (2.10) eliminated five jumpers.

James Benson raced over a 200m distance outdoor for the first time in two years and led the field with a 20.94 into a -0.6 headwind. The time edged out a 20.99 from Missouri’s Jayson Ashford in another section.

Closing out the day in the 4 x 400m relay, the Arkansas crew of Brandon Battle, Jeremy Farr, Devontie Archer, and Ethan Carney won the race in 3:09.24 to defeat Michigan (3:09.33) and San Jose State (3:09.95). Carney passed the Michigan runner in the final stages of the race.

Matthew Lewis-Banks ran 13.82 as runner-up in the 110m hurdles, finishing behind a winning time of 13.75 from Cal Poly Pomona’s Ryan Field. Lewis-Banks was just a 10th of a second off his career best of 13.72.

Racing in the 400m hurdles, Archer led a trio of Razorbacks as he clocked 52.44 to finish fourth overall. Farr placed fifth in 52.54 while Sims was ninth in 52.91.

Connor Washington advanced to the final of the 100m, placing sixth in 10.67.
