Razorbacks qualify nine entries in five SEC Indoor finals
COLLEGE STATION – No. 1 Arkansas added one point to its team score on the second day of the SEC Indoor Championships while advancing seven individuals in four events for Saturday’s finals.
Cooper Williams placed eighth in the heptathlon with a score of 4,832 points. The Razorbacks have 19 points through five of 17 finals and are currently in fourth place behind Ole Miss (32), Texas A&M (28), and Alabama (24).
Arkansas advanced a pair of Razorbacks each in three events – 60m, 800m, and 60m hurdles – while advancing one in the 400m. That’s in addition to a pair of qualifiers in the 200m from Thursday.

In the 60m prelims, Jelani Watkins equaled his career best of 6.52, which is No. 2 on the UA all-time list, in sharing the leading time with Auburn’s Kanyinsola Ajayi as both were timed in 6.518 from separate heats. Karabo Letebele equaled his outdoor 60m career best of 6.53 in winning another heat and improved his No. 3 standing on the UA all-time list.
The final time to advance to the 60m final was 6.62. Jamarion Stubbs clocked 6.66 while Dapriest Hogans (6.70) and Tevijon Williams (6.79) also didn’t advance.
Jordan Pierre won his section of the 400m prelims in a career best 45.51, which ranks No. 5 on the UA all-time list and was fourth best overall in the field. The final time to reach the final was 45.83. Devyn Wright won his section in 46.00 while Zander Cruzan claimed another section in 46.67.
Rivaldo Marshall and Tyrice were second in their respective heats of the 800m and managed to reach the final on time. Marshall ran 1:49.07 while Taylor posted a 1:49.11. Also racing in the 800m were Owan Logorodi (1:50.64), Julian Carter (1:51.19), and Josh Rammage (1:53.35).
Closing out the second day with the 60m hurdle prelims, Vashaun Vascianna won the final heat in 7.55 to secure auto qualification to the final following three call backs but no false starts registered. Jerome Campbell finished second in 7.62 to advance on time.
Karamoko Sacko placed third in the second heat in 7.67, but didn’t advance as the final time qualifier was 7.66. Abdoul Sy-Savane clipped a hurdle in the first heat and stumbled near the end of the race, posting a time of 8.49.
