Razorbacks Ready For Regional Showdown

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The No. 7 Arkansas women’s cross country team heads into their final pre-nationals tune up this weekend as the hosts of the 2016 NCAA South Central Region Championship.

Head coach Lance Harter’s squad has been a formidable force in the region during the last five seasons and will pursue their sixth-consecutive title on Friday, Nov. 11 at Agri Park.

The race will feature 25 teams from Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas all contending for the coveted regional crown and automatic bid to next weekend’s NCAA Championship.

Arkansas was rewarded in the latest USTFCCCA standings, moving up to No. 7 from No. 10 following its victory at the 2016 Southeastern Conference Championship.

As one of several ranked programs in the field, the Razorbacks will line up against the 29th-ranked Southern Methodist Mustangs who are looking to capitalize off their momentum gained from their top team finish at the 2016 American Athletic Conference Championship.

Meet Info
The championship will begin at 11 a.m. CT with the women’s 6K race. The men’s 10K race will follow at 12 p.m. after which an awards ceremony will be held for the top individual performers and team champions.

The USTFCCCA will provide a live stream of updates featuring pictures, results and splits on their National Results Wall. Fans can engage in the event using the hashtag #DIRegionals on social media.
