Razorbacks Return to Action in Tuscaloosa

Arkansas volleyball’s final road series of the regular season kicks off Saturday as the Hogs pay the Crimson Tide a visit in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama is coming off an 0-3 loss against Mississippi State at home on Wednesday, while the Razorbacks haven’t played since an Oct. 27 home sweep of Missouri.

The Tide are currently 10-14 overall and 2-10 in conference. The two teams last met in the 2021 spring season, in which Arkansas swept Alabama in a two-match series at Barnhill Arena. The Hogs have a 35-17 advantage all-time against the Crimson Tide, but they haven’t claimed a victory in Tuscaloosa since 2011.

Arkansas holds an advantage in each statistical category over Alabama. Even following an off week, the Hogs are in the top five in the SEC in five areas: opponent hitting percentage (.182), assists per set (12.63), kills per set (13.65), digs per set (15.05) and aces per set (1.70).

The Razorbacks are also best in the conference in aces per set, but Alabama takes the top spot individually. While Arkansas’ Maggie Cartwright has more total, Tide senior outside hitter Abby Marjama has served more aces in less action with 67 sets to Cartwright’s 76. Both are currently registering 0.49 per set.

Saturday’s match is set for noon and will be streamed on SEC Network+, and Sunday’s series finale will be broadcast live on SEC Network at 3 p.m.
