Razorbacks rout Drury, extend series win streak to 17

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The 2024-25 season began with a splash for the Razorbacks on Friday afternoon. They hosted Drury University in the Arkansas Natatorium, marking the 26th meeting of the two teams since the 1989-90 season. The Razorbacks routed the Panthers, outscoring them 140 to 95 and extending their win streak with Drury to 17 meets.

The Razorbacks notched first-place finishes in all 13 events. The Hogs swept the podium in 5 events. Bella Cothern picked up wins in both the 50 and 100 freestyle. Reka Rohacs put up solid 10:09.86 finish in the 1000 freestyle, earning her first event win as a Razorback. Delaney Harrison finished first in the 200 butterfly, and Bradi Jones notched a win in the 200 breaststroke. Freshman Ashley Morton picked up her first collegiate individual event win in the 200 backstroke. Razorback relays dominated with the A and B relays finishing first and second in both the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay.

In the dive tank, the Razorbacks swept both 1-meter and 3-meter diving. Maria Jose Sanchez-Moreno posted a score of 290.48, an NCAA Zone Diving qualifying score. Malea Martinez and Bryze Sanchez finished second and third with point totals of 273.45 and 265.95 respectively which are also NCAA Zone cuts. Maria Jose Sanchez-Moreno won 3 meter diving with a score of 314.78 followed by Kanah Pumphrey and Malea Martinez who both scored 304.80.

The Razorbacks move to 1-0 on the season in dual meets. They will be back in action at the Arkansas Natatorium on Saturday, October 12th at 10:00am CST as they host SEC opponent Missouri.
