Razorbacks Set to Begin Postseason Play in NIVC

Arkansas volleyball will begin its postseason this week as the bracket for the National Invitational Volleyball Championship was released Sunday evening.

The Razorbacks will have a first round bye before taking on the winner of either Stephen F. Austin or Jackson State in Nacogdoches, Texas on 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 4. Arkansas is the only team in the field with a first round bye.

The Hogs saw Stephen F. Austin in non-conference action this season and won 3-1. Arkansas has never played Jackson State in program history.

The tournament consists of 31 teams and the first and second rounds will take place at regional sites on Dec. 2-5. Round three will be Dec. 6-8, the semifinals are Dec. 8-11 and the championship is Dec. 12-14.

The NIVC tournament was revived in 2017 after a 22-year hiatus to provide an additional postseason opportunity for Division I teams. Georgia Tech is the reigning NIVC champion and took the title in 2019.
