Razorbacks Sign 3 of Europe’s Top Golfers
FAYETTEVILLE – University of Arkansas head men’s golf coach Brad McMakin has landed three highly decorated players – Lev Grinberg, Neo Berg and Guus Lafeber – all of whom have represented Team Europe at international competitions.
Lev Grinberg
Kyiv, Ukraine
- Two-time Junior Ryder Cup member for Team Europe … In 2025, 1 of 3 males to make the team as an automatic qualifier … In 2023, led Europe to a dominant 20.5 to 9.5 victory … In 2025, defeated Luke Colton (4&3) in the final day singles matches.
- Three-time member of the winning team Continent of Europe at the Jacques Léglise Trophy (2023, 2024, 2025), an annual competition between Great Britain & Ireland and the Continent of Europe, playing with fellow signees Neo Berg in 2024 and Guus Lefaeber in 2025
• Also represented Europe at the 2025 Bonallack Trophy – a Ryder Cup-style event pitting the European team versus a team representing Asia/Pacific. - Placed 9th at the 2025 European Amateur and played in the 2025 The Amateur Championship
- Finished 15th at the 2025 European Men’s Club Trophy

- At the age of 16, was in contention at the 2024 FedEx Open de France at Le Golf National after an opening round of 66, a shot off the lead … Ultimately tied for 37th and was low amateur.
- At the age of 14, qualified for the 2022 Soudal Open in Belgium and became the second-youngest player to make a cut in the DP World Tour’s history
Neo Berg
Svanesund, Sweden
- Placed 21st at the 2025 European Amateur (75-71-75-70)
- Has earned starts at five professional tour events in 2025, including a 36th-place finish at the 2025 FootJoy Championship
- On the winning team (with fellow signee Lev Grinberg) at the 2024 Jacques Léglise Trophy, an annual competition between Great Britain & Ireland and the Continent of Europe.
- Represented Sweden at the 2024 European Boys’ Team Championship
- Represented Team Sweden at the 2025 European Nations Cup – Copa Sotogrande, one of the top five amateur events in Europe annually
- Won the 2024 German Boys’ Open (70-67)

Guus Lafeber
Amsterdam, Netherlands
- Won the 2025 R&A Boy’s Amateur Championship to become the first Dutchman to win the event in its 98-year history … Shot 68-67 in stroke play (5th) … In Match Play, defeated Juan Miro Asorey (Spain) 2&1; defeated Mikkel Bergum Johansen (Norway) 2&1; defeated Mikulas Vojtesek (Czech Republic) 2&1; defeated Alessio Brunella (Italy) 2&1; defeated Kuan Zhou (USA) and defeated Yago Horno (Spain) on the 37th hole in the championship
- Went 4-0 to help the Continent of Europe team (with fellow signee Lev Grinberg) win the 2025 Jacques Léglise Trophy, 15-10
- Represented the Netherlands at the 2025 World Amateur Team Championship – Eisenhower Trophy
- Won the 2025 Dutch National Open Stroke Play Championship and finished third at the 2025 Dutch National U18 Stroke Play Championship
- Finished runner-up at the 2025 Dutch National Open Championship, a professional event
- In 2025, played in the U.S. Junior Amateur, the European Amateur and The Amateur Championship
