Razorbacks Topple Jayhawks

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Razorbacks followed up their sting of dominant home wins with a solid win on the road to round out their regular season schedule. The Hogs toppled the University of Kansas Jayhawks by a 44-point margin, making the final score 172-128.

The Razorbacks won 14 of the 16 events with Kansas picking up their two event wins in 3-meter diving and 200 Fly. “I was very happy with how the team responded to another week of hard work by getting off the bus and performing strongly,” said Coach Neil Harper. Adela Vavrinova, Betsy Wizard, Bella Cothern, Sydney Craft, and Alessia Ferraguti each picked up a pair of individual event wins while Vavrinova, Cothern, Ferraguti, and Wizard were all part of at least one winning relay, too.

The Hogs took first and second in the 400 Medley Relay while taking first and third in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Freshman Bara Matoskova notched a win in the 200 Backstroke. These Razorback wins helped, “lead the charge and inspired lots of second and third place finishes,” as well. Razorback divers Malea Martinez, Isabella Perreira, and Bryze Sanchez placed 5th, 6th, and 7th  , respectively, in the 3-meter event.

Coach Harper looks to the team to find, “focus as they fine tune and prepare for personal bests at the SEC Championships.” The Razorbacks will be back in action on February 20 in Auburn, Alabama for the SEC Championships.
