Razorbacks total seven entries for NCAA Outdoor finals

EUGENE – Solid performances had the Razorbacks advancing seven entries in four events into Saturday finals at the NCAA Championships inside Hayward Field.

Sanu Jallow-Lockhart won her section of the 800m in 1:58.89 to lead the field overall and better the fastest time set in a NCAA semifinal, a 1:58.95 by Michaela Rose of LSU in 2025. The next best time was 1:59.46 by Penn State’s Hayley Kitching.

After producing the second fastest time among collegians all-time with a 1:57.74 at the NCAA West, the 1:58.89 by Jallow-Lockhart ranks equal No. 7 performer on the all-time collegiate list with Rose from her 2024 SEC title. Jallow-Lockhart is also No. 6 performer with her 1:58.82 SEC title this season.

Analisse Batista claimed the final time qualifier to the final with a career best 1:59.93, which ranks No. 2 on the UA all-time list.

Saira Prince won her section of the 400m hurdles in a career best of 55.13 and was second best overall behind a 54.49 from Akala Garrett of South Carolina. Arkansas freshman Morgan Herbst raced in the same heat with Prince, in lane 9, and earned the final time qualifier with a 56.11 and will be one of two freshmen in the final.

Sanaria Butler and Kaylyn Brown were both runner-up in separate heats of the 400m. Butler posted a tie of 50.53 behind Georgia’s Dejanea Oakley (49.93) while Brown clocked 50.62 and finished behind a 50.31for Sydney Segalla of Boston College.

Arkansas is the only school with a pair of athletes in the final of the 400m, 800m, and 400m hurdles.

Closing out the day with the 4 x 400m relay the Razorbacks generated the fourth fastest performance in collegiate history behind three other Arkansas times.

A time of 3:21.90 led the field advancing to the final as the Razorback foursome included Butler (50.84), Batista (50.50), Brown (50.16), and Jallow-Lockhart (50.40).

Also advancing to the 4 x 400m relay final are Georgia (3:24.29), Duke (3:25.14), Tennessee (3:25.21), USC (3:25.97), Florida (3:26.06), Iowa (3:27.21), Kentucky (3:29.28), and Kansas State (3:29.63).
