Razorbacks Up to 13th at Prestige

LA QUINTA, Calif. – Arkansas shaved five strokes off its opening-round score to post a 4-over-par 288 and move up one spot to 13th in The Prestige Presented by Charles Schwab at PGA WEST – Greg Norman Course (par 71, 7,100-yards).

The 41st-ranked Razorbacks have a two-day total of 581 (293-288). Texas, ranked 16th, leads the field with a score of 554. Top-ranked Pepperdine is five strokes back (599), followed by #22 UCLA (564), #42 San Diego State (564), #9 Texas Tech (565) and #13 SMU (567).

Tyson Reeder continues to lead the Razorbacks. The senior is tied for 28th with a 36-hole score of 143 (68-75).

Julian Perico and William Buhl are tied for 40th with a two-day total of 144. Perico had the best round of the day by a Razorback, carding a 1-under-par 70. He turned in five birdies on the day to move up four places to 40th. Buhl had three birdies on Tuesday, including one on his final hole – the par-4, 9th – to shoot an even-par 71.

Mason Overstreet trimmed six shots off his day one round, posting a 1-over-par 72 Tuesday. He is tied for 66th with a 36-hole score of 150 (78-72). William McDonald rounds out the Razorback quintet. The freshman is tied for 74th (79-76=155).

In addition to the team event, an individual tournament is being played at the nearby Coral Mountain Golf Club (par 72, 7,145 yards).

Arkansas senior Luis Garza had four birdies en route to a 2-under-par 70. He climbed eight spots to 17th with a 36-hole score of 145 (75-70). Freshman Mauricio Figueroa is tied for 22nd after a pair of 74’s (148 total).

The third and final round is set for Wednesday.
