Razorbacks Wrap Up Play at the PTT 25K Fayetteville
Multiple Razorbacks competed at home this week at Billingsley Tennis Center at the UTR PTT 25K Fayetteville.
On Monday, the Hogs picked up three wins, starting with Carolina Gomez, who defeated Elizabeth Fauchet, 6-3, 6-3. Jimena Gomez Alonso outlasted Olga Bienzobas Fernandez, 6-3, 6-2, and Alex Panagiotidou picked up a win against Juliana Singerza, 6-1, 6-3.
During day two of competition, Carolina Gomez defeated Anet Koskel 6-2, 6-0, and Arina Babenko took down Morgan McCarthy, 6-0, 6-1. On day three, Katie Ferguson defeated Kaiden Greer, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1, Anet Koskel took down Elizabeth Fauchet, 6-0, 6-1, and Carolina Gomez defeated Danielle Young, 6-3, 6-2.
Day four of round-robin brought two more wins, starting with Jimena Gomez Alonso over Jana Stojanova, 6-1, 6-4. Alex Panagiotidou defeated Kaiden Greer, 6-0, 6-0. On the last day of round-robin play, Carolina Gomez won over Sara Borkop, 5-7, 6-3, 6-1, and Anet Koskel took down Danielle Young, 4-6, 7-6, 6-4.
The playoff rounds started on Saturday, where Carolina Gomez and Anet Koskel both picked up wins. Gomez defeated Alyson Shannon, 6-3, 6-1, and Koskel defeated Katie Ferguson 6-4, 6-2. The pair of Hogs fell in their matches on Sunday: Gomez 7-5, 4-6, 3-5, and Koskel 6-0, 6-3.
