Razorbacks close out spring season
FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas volleyball team will host Missouri State Saturday afternoon at Barnhill Arena. First serve is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and admission is free to all fans. The match between the two regional foes will mark the finale of the Razorbacks’ spring exhibition season.
"This match against Missouri State is important for us," head coach Robert Pulliza said. "Obviously, it’s another chance for us to be in a competitive situation against another team during the spring but the match will also show us what things we need to take into the summer and work on for the fall."
Saturday’s match will be the second home date for the Razorbacks during their spring schedule. On April 3, Arkansas took part in its annual alumni match at Barnhill Arena. The Hogs’ matchup with Missouri State will cap the team’s five-event spring slate which also included tournament dates in Houston and Overland Park, Kan.
A young team, which is projected not to feature any seniors in 2010, has spent the past six weeks training and growing together. In addition to its returning players, Arkansas welcomed Alex Fitzmorris and Adrian Vazquez to the spring roster. The two new Razorbacks joined the team’s roster in January and have participated in spring workouts.
Arkansas will host its 2010 summer camps beginning July 5-7 with the Lil’ Back Camp. The Razorbacks will also host position, skill and team camps during the month. For more information about Razorback camps, visit ArkansasVolleyballCamps.com.
