Rebels Up Next for Razorbacks in Road Match
The Volley Hogs head to Oxford on Wednesday for a midweek contest against the Ole Miss Rebels at 6 p.m.
The two teams last met in the fall 2020 season, in which the Razorbacks came away with a home sweep. The Hogs hold a 36-15 advantage in the all-time series and are 13-10 in Oxford.
The Rebels have made significant strides this season under second year head coach Kayla Banwarth. They finished 1-19 last year but are currently 12-3 and 1-3 in the SEC. All three of the team’s losses have come against ranked opponents, including one five-set match against No. 6 Kentucky and two against No. 22 Florida.
Ole Miss returned all five of its best hitters from last season and brought in graduate transfers Kylee McLaughlin and Sam Burgio to bolster the Rebels in the setter and libero positions.
The Razorbacks lead Ole Miss in assists (694), kills per set (13.76), aces (97) and digs per set (15.33) among conference competitors. The Rebels have the edge in blocks per set (2.49) and hitting percentage (.265). Arkansas junior Jill Gillen currently leads the SEC in kills with 239 and kills per set at 4.51, and junior Gracie Ryan is atop the conference in assists with 618.
The match will be streamed on SEC Network+ and live stats will be provided by Ole Miss.
