Reco, Rousset Advance on Day Three of ITF Event

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The main draw of the singles bracket was back underway on day three of the ITF World Tour 15K presented by Legacy Bank. Wednesday’s schedule included both Razorbacks left in the tournament, seniors Alex Reco and Nico Rousset.

Reco took on Argentine Juan Pablo Grassi Mazzuchi, who beat Razorback Hunter Harrison on Monday, and Reco grabbed the win in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, to reach the round of 16.

Rousset was tasked with facing the No. 3 seed in the tournament, former Northwestern Wildcat Strong Kirchheimer, and it was Rousset who pulled off the upset on home court, 7-5, 6-4. 

Reco and Rousset will be back in action Thursday. Arkansas sophomore Avery Zavala and former Hog Mike Redlicki take on Raphael Lambling and Daniel Rodrigues in the quarterfinals while another former Hog, Oscar Mesquida, is also going to be back in doubles action Thursday.
