
Redlicki Falls At Collegiate Invitational
FLUSHING, N.Y. – Arkansas senior Mike Redlicki fell to Thai-Son Kwiatkowski of Virginia 6-4, 3-0, ret. in the first round of the American Collegiate Invitational at the USTA National Tennis Center on Thursday.
Tied 4-4 in the first set, Kwiatkowski won a decisive break and then served out to win the set 6-4. In the second set, Kwiatkowski went ahead two breaks and was leading 3-0 when Redlicki retired 50 minutes into the match.
“It was a great experience for Mike and thanks to the United States Tennis Association for the opportunity,” head coach Andy Jackson said. “Mike played pretty well, but Thai-Son was just much fitter. We know what we have to do moving forward.”
The men’s tennis fall schedule continues in two weeks with the Southern Intercollegiate, which will be held Sept. 23-26 in Athens, Georgia.
