Rice Selected for NCAA Singles Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Graduate student Tatum Rice was selected for the NCAA Singles Championships on Tuesday evening. Rice is ranked No. 65 in the latest ITA rankings and was an at-large selection for the individual tournament.

The Hot Springs, Ark. native has had an impressive season as a Razorback, being selected First Team All-SEC and earning SEC Player of the Week earlier this year after clinching the match win over Vanderbilt. Rice has accumulated a 12-9 record in singles at the No. 1 position for Arkansas, going 8-8 against nationally-ranked opponents this season. In four straight SEC matches, including taking down No. 80 Antonaki to clinch the win over Mississippi State and over No. 16 Branstine of Texas A&M.

The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 23-28 at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex in Champaign, Illinois, after the conclusion of the team championship, which runs from May 20-22. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will serve as host.
