Road Trip to Face the Crimson Tide

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – After a pair of wins on its home floor last week, the University of Arkansas volleyball team hits the road Sunday afternoon for a conference matchup at Alabama. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. (CT) at Foster Auditorium in Tuscaloosa. The Southeastern Conference contest will be televised on the SEC Network.

All-Time Series vs. Alabama
Arkansas (5-18/3-8 SEC) owns a 32-12 advantage in its series with Alabama (15-10/4-8 SEC). However, the Crimson Tide have won the last five meetings including a straight-set win in Fayetteville earlier this season. The Razorbacks are 12-7 in matches played against Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

Last Time Out
For the 13th time since 2000, Arkansas rallied from a 0-2 match deficit and beat Georgia at Barnhill Arena. Danielle Harbin had a career-high 27 kills while Okiana Valle matched her season high with 28 digs in the win. The Razorbacks saved three match points in the third set. Arkansas was aided by a season-high 10 service aces including a career-high six from Rachel Rippee.

Harbin Rewarded
Senior co-captain Danielle Harbin was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week and voted the HERO Sports Player of the Week after averaging 6.00 points per set, 5.56 kills per set, 3.33 digs per set and 0.78 blocks per set. She tallied two double-double performances and totaled 50 kills in wins over Mississippi State and Georgia. Harbin is ranked second in the SEC and 34th in the NCAA at 4.23 kills per set.

The Closer
Senior Barbara Dapic was clutch at the end of sets three and four in the Razorbacks’ come-from-behind win over Georgia. She put down the final three kills in the third and had the final two kills in the fourth. Dapic finished the match with 12 kills including the 500th of her career.

On the Verge
Senior co-captain enters Sunday’s match four kills shy of reaching 500 for her career. She would become the third to reach the milestone this season, along with Danielle Harbin (Oct. 5 vs Texas A&M) and Barbara Dapic (Oct. 30 vs Georgia). Jones has SEC outings this season with seven or more kills including double figures in four of her last five matches and is hitting .385 against conference opponents.
