Junior (2016)
NCAA National Runner-Up (steeplechase), First Team All-American … Opened the 2016 season with the top-25 finish in the 10,000 at the Stanford Invitational (4/1) … Shifted focus to the steeplechase, dropping 15 seconds between his race at the Mt. SAC relays (4/15) to his race at the Payton Jordan Invitational (5/1), placing 10th in the latter … Raced to a gold medal at the SEC Outdoor Championship (5/13) in the steeplechase with  a new PR of 8:39.82 to help the Razorbacks secure the program’s 15th SEC Triple Crown … Capped his junior season setting another PR in the event at the outdoor national meet, clocking 8:30.67 to earn a silver medal and eight points towards Arkansas’ national runner-up team finish.

Sophomore (2015)
Placed 14th in the 5,000m in his SEC Indoor Championship debut… Recorded a personal best time in the steeplechase at the Payton Jordan Invitational in early May… His time of 8:45.91 ranks him seventh in the event in the West Region and top 20 in the country… Gained All-SEC Second team honors for his runner-up finish in the 10,000 at the SEC Outdoor Championship… Also crossed the line in the steeplechase top five

At Iowa Central 
Recorded three top five finishes at the 2014 NJCAA Indoor Championships placing fourth in the Mile, third in the 5,000 and second in the second in the 3,000 … Carrying that momentum into the Outdoor season, Tonui went on to compete in four events at the 2014 NJCAA Outdoor Championships, with his best finish coming as Runner-up in the 10,000 … Finished fourth at the 2014 NJCAA Cross Country Championships to help the Tritons win their first title
