Appeared in 43 games including 32 starts primarily as the designated player…finished the season with a .248 batting average, four home runs, 14 RBI and nine runs scored…posted seven multi-hit games with a pair of three-hit efforts against Buffalo (March 4) and Grand Canyon (March 20)…had a home run and scored twice in win over No. 23 Nebraska (March 19)…tied for second on the team with seven doubles…tallied five multi-RBI games.

Before Arkansas
Box was named the Arkansas Democrat Gazette’s 2012-13 Outstanding Player of the Year for the state of Arkansas following a standout senior campaign at White Hall HS. She tallied a .494 batting average with 11 home runs, 28 RBI and a .550 on-base percentage while leading the Lady Bulldogs to a 24-5 record and the program’s second consecutive Class 5A state title. The championship win happened at Bogle Park. Over the final two seasons of her prep career, Box totaled 21 home runs and 71 RBI.
Personal
Born Jan. 23, 1995, Rachel Caroline Box is the daughter of Rodney and Scarlette Box and has one older sibling, Grant Box. Her uncle, Carl Lafferty, was drafted by the Florida Marlins, also spent time in the St. Louis Cardinals organization and is currently an assistant baseball coach at Ole Miss. Box plans to major in kinesiology at Arkansas.
