Schultz Takes Gold, Qualifies for World Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – Razorback All-American Brooke Schultz took the 3-meter title at the 2019 USA Diving Senior National Championships Sunday afternoon, qualifying for the 2019 FINA World Championships later this summer.

Schultz was in third-place after the first three rounds, taking the lead with a fourth-round score of 67.50. The Fayetteville, Ark. native earned a narrow victory, finishing just 0.15 points ahead of Maria Corbin with a score of 315.60.

National championship results were determined by the scores in the finals, while World Championships spots were based on cumulative scoring from throughout the week.

The rising junior will represent the USA at the 2019 FINA World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea. The event will take place from July 12-28, with the diving events set for July 12-19. Schultz is the third Razorback to qualify for the event, with Anna Hopkin set to represent Great Britain and Maha Amer set to represent Egypt.
