Schultz Wins Three-Meter Title At USA Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Diver Brooke Schultz continued her success on the boards in her freshman campaign, winning the three-meter title Sunday at the 2017 USA Winter Diving National Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina, with a 15-dive score of 912.25.

The Fayetteville native led the way through the prelims on Friday with a five-dive score of 305.00. Advancing to the afternoon semifinals, Schultz scored a 296.10 to bring her total to 601.10, good enough to lead the field heading into Sunday’s final.

Sunday, she scored her best round of the week, 311.15, to claim the top podium spot and win the 3m title.

Schultz paced the field through all 15 dives, averaging 60.82 points per dive. Schultz scored 11 dives over 62.00 points, including three over 65.00.

“We are very excited about Brooke’s title,” said head coach Neil Harper. “She bounced back tremendously and showed the country just what she is capable of. The entire Razorback Nation is proud of Brooke’s accomplishment.”

Despite missing out on the 1m finals earlier in the week, Schultz has won 12 of her first 13 dives to start her collegiate career.
