Scott-Efurd Races To Silver At South Africa Championships

STELLENBOSCH, South Africa — Arkansas senior Dominique Scott-Efurd placed second in the 1,500-meter run at the 2016 South African Championships at the Coetzenburg Athletics Stadium in Stellenbosch on Saturday.

Scott-Efurd earned the silver medal with a season’s best time of 4 minutes, 14.23 seconds — the second best performance in the NCAA as of April 17.

Following a break from competition this weekend, Scott-Efurd will return to action on the track at Stanford’s prestigious Payton Jordan Invitational on Sunday, May 1. The 2015 two-time national runner-up will face off against the world’s best distance runners at Cobb Stadium in hopes of collecting an Olympic qualifying standard.
