Scott Tabbed to All-SEC Freshman Team
FAYETTEVILLE – Taliah Scott from the Arkansas women’s basketball team was named to the 2024 SEC All-Freshman Team, as announced by the league on Tuesday. This marks the third straight year head coach Mike Neighbors has landed a player on the All-Freshman Team, as well as fourth selection in the Neighbors era at Arkansas.
Scott, who was one of eight tabbed to the SEC All-Freshman Team, started in 19 of 20 contests for the Hogs. She led the SEC for most of the season with 22.1 points per game, being the only one in the league to average 20.0+ points per game, as well as averaged 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. In the NCAA, she stood top 10 in scoring average for most of the season, logging 442 points in 20 contests. Scott tallied 19 double-digit scoring games, while leading the Hogs in scoring in 15 of those games, as well as 13 20+ point games and three 30-point contests.
She was a five-time SEC Freshman of the Week, which tied a school record. Scott scored 29 points in her collegiate debut vs. ULM, which became the most points scored by a freshman in their collegiate debut in school history. She registered 24 points in Arkansas’ 71-58 win in the Hogs’ win over No. 15 Florida State in the SEC/ACC Challenge, as well as recorded a career-high 34 points at Arkansas State. Scott was named to the West Palm Beach Classic All-Tournament Team after averaging 21.5 points per game in Arkansas’ wins over Illinois and UIC. In her most recent three appearances in SEC play, she averaged 25.3 points per game across those contests. Including 33 points against Auburn, in which she tallied 17 of her points in the third quarter alone.

The No. 10 seed Hogs will play the No. 7 seed Auburn Tigers in the second round of the SEC Tournament on Thursday, March 7 at the Bon Secours Wellness Center in Greenville, South Carolina. That game will tipoff at 5 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
