Signee Rex Hargrove Wins 2022 Jones Cup Junior

SAINT SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Signee Rex Hargrove, who will join the Razorback golf program for the 2023-23 season, won the Jones Cup Junior Invitational Championship this past weekend at Sea Islands’ Seaside Course.

Hargrove (Houston, Texas) carded rounds of 75-71-65 to win the 54-hole event by one stroke with an even-par total of 210. The event began in 2001 and features 84 of the top junior golfers in the country.

In the final round, Hargrove bogeyed his third hole before going bogey-free with six birdies over his final 16 holes.

Hopefully, his play will bode well for the Razorbacks in the future as Sea Island Seaside Course is the annual site for the SEC Men’s Golf Championships. Past champions include the likes of Justin Thomas, Patrick Reed, Luke List, Corey Conners and Ludvig Aberg (the top-ranked amateur in the world).
