Smith Earns All-America Honor from Baseball America

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas pitcher Hagen Smith has been named an All-American by Baseball America.

Smith, who earned third-team recognition from the publication, has now collected All-America honors from six major selectors, including the American Baseball Coaches Association, Baseball America, College Baseball Foundation, Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Perfect Game.

Smith made 18 appearances with 11 starts on the mound in 2023, posting an 8-2 record with a 3.64 ERA, a team-leading 109 strikeouts and two saves in 71 2/3 innings of work. He held opposing hitters to a .217 batting average on the year.

In SEC play, the left-hander worked in a variety of roles, making 11 appearances with five starts, and compiled a 5-1 record with a 3.07 ERA. He totaled 65 strikeouts over 44 innings and limited opposing hitters to a .201 batting average.

Smith is currently in training camp with the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. The Razorback ace is vying for a spot on the final 31-man roster for the USA vs. Chinese Taipei International Friendship Series.
