Soccer Set for NCAA Fayetteville Regional
FAYETTEVILLE– Arkansas soccer (15-2-2, 8-1-1 SEC), a 2-seed in the NCAA Tournament, will play host to Stanford, Cal and UConn this weekend for the second and third rounds of the Big Dance. Kickoff for Friday’s matchup between Arkansas and Cal is set for 6:30 p.m. and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Josh Haley (play-by-play) and Kelly Roliard (analyst) on the call.
The second-round matchup will be the second all-time meeting between the two programs. The Golden Bears hold a 2-0-0 advantage in the all-time series, including a 2-0 win over the Razorbacks in their last meeting in 1999.
Razorback Field is set to host its fourth consecutive second weekend of the NCAA tournament. Arkansas will be looking to advance to the third round of the tournament for the third time in the last four seasons.
The Razorbacks started out hot in the NCAA tournament, scoring four goals in the first half of the opening-round matchup against Oklahoma State. The team achieved their 12th shutout of the season and freshman goalkeeper Keegan Smith notched her 10th solo clean sheet.
Cal (13-5-2, 5-4-1 ACC) is coming off a golden-goal win over seven-seed Pepperdine. The Golden Bears scored the first goal of the game, but the Waves equalized in the second half to force overtime before a goal by Courtney Boone in the 106th minute ended the match.

Arkansas and Cal outscored their first-round opponents 6-1 to advance to the second weekend. The Hogs shut out Oklahoma State, 4-0, and the Golden Bears eliminated Pepperdine 2-1.
UConn took care of Rutgers, 2-1, with two goals coming in a six-minute period in the first half. Stanford smashed UC Santa Barbara, 5-0, with three scores coming in the second half.
