South Central Region honors for Doug Case, Jordan Anthony
FAYETTEVILLE – Two Razorbacks earned South Central Region honors as announced by USTFCCCA on Thursday with Arkansas Associate head coach Doug Case named Assistant Coach of the Year while Track Athlete of the Year was awarded to Jordan Anthony.
This marks the fourth region honor for Case, who previously earned South Central Region indoor honors in 2011 and 2015, with an outdoor honor in 2018.
In his 17th season at Arkansas, Case coached seven Razorbacks to qualification in five events at the NCAA Indoor Championships among sprints, hurdles, middle distance, and 4 x 400m relay. A trio of UA sprinters qualified in the 400m.
During the course of the indoor season multiple additions were made to the Arkansas all-time list in the sprints, hurdles and middle distance groups. Four Razorback 400m sprinters are among the top 11 all-time, four 60m hurdlers are among the top 11, and three 800m runners are among the top 11 while two additions were made on the 4 x 400m relay list.
Highlighting the sprint crew, Anthony became the first Razorback to win the NCAA Indoor 60m and the first Arkansas sprinter since 2018 to claim the SEC Indoor 60m.
In sweeping the SEC and NCAA Indoor titles, Anthony joined elite company in becoming just the eighth sprinter to achieve the feat. It was the first sweep since 2019 The Bowerman winner Grant Holloway of Florida.
Posting times of 6.54 and 6.49 in winning those two titles, Anthony only trails 2017 The Bowerman winner Christian Coleman of Tennessee, who clocked 6.52 and a collegiate record 6.45 in his sweep.
After breaking the UA 60m record with his 6.54 SEC victory, Anthony joined the collegiate all-time top 10 with a 6.47 in the NCAA 60m prelims. That time ranks =No. 6 performer and =No. 8 performance on the collegiate all-time list and is currently second in the world for 2025 indoor times.
In the NCAA 60m final, a time of 6.49 earned Anthony the victory over a pair of Auburn sprinters who each recorded a 6.52 in placing second and third.
