Tankersley, Smith Receive SEC Weekly Honors

FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas forward Ava Tankersley and goalkeeper Keegan Smith were honored by the SEC for their performances this past week, the league announced Monday.

Tankersley will continue her reign as SEC Offensive Player of the Week after becoming just the fourth Razorback to record 100 career points. She hit the mark after netting the game-winning goal against No. 23 South Carolina to keep Arkansas undefeated in SEC play. Tankersley also assisted in the Hogs’ insurance goal less than 10 minutes later. On Thursday at Vanderbilt, Tankersley transitioned to a winger role to help the Hogs carve through Vanderbilt’s defense and pick up its first road win of 2024.

Smith, the Hogs’ freshman goalkeeper, picked up her first SEC weekly award after adding her second and third shutouts of SEC play. On Thursday at Vanderbilt, Smith notched a career-high seven saves to give Arkansas its first road win of the season. Smith has recorded 315 shutout minutes in SEC play.

Tankersley, Smith and No. 2 Arkansas return to play on Friday, Oct. 4 against No. 9 Mississippi State. First touch from Starkville will take place at 6 p.m. and the match will be televised on SEC Network.
